CodeBurn

AI Coding Cost Tracker

CodeBurn is a free, open-source, local AI coding cost tracker. Run npx codeburn and it reads the session files your AI coding tools already write to disk, then shows your token usage and cost across 31 tools, broken down by model, project, and task. Nothing is uploaded; there is no account.

Why track AI coding cost

Agentic coding burns tokens fast, and the bill is one number with no breakdown. CodeBurn turns that into a clear picture: which model, which project, and which kind of work, writing code versus delegation, exploration, and debugging, is actually eating your spend.

Works with the tools you use

Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot, Gemini, Cline, Aider-class CLIs and more, all in one view. See the full list of supported tools.

How it works

CodeBurn parses the local logs each tool keeps, applies correct per-model and cache pricing, and reports the API-equivalent cost, so even on flat subscriptions you can see what your usage is really worth. Available as a CLI, a macOS menu bar app, and a local web dashboard.
